Our family started raising Dachshunds in the 70's. My mother was Karen Turner (Spann). Heather Ridge Kennel was established in 2007.

In 2010, we made a very important decision to start raising both Champion Bred Dachshund puppies AND Pets.

We kept the sweet, loveable, old style dachshunds, but we added AKC Champion bloodlines to our program to improve the look and health of our babies, and for those who want show dogs or champion lines for breeding.

Unregistered price for a champion bred dog is the same as a pup without champion bloodlines. We only ask more $ if you are going to use the champion line pup for breeding and will need their AKC Papers.

"Papers"

When we talk about "papers" we are referring to AKC registration papers. They allow you to show or breed your puppy.

Pets do not come with papers. We do not offer AKC Limited papers.

BREEDERS - ONLY BUY AKC DOGS!

Rule of Thumb: You sell your pups at the price you pay for your parents. Don't buy a $300 dog and expect to sell the pups for $1000!

BREEDERS - DON'T PICK OUT YOUR 1st PUP BEFORE TALKING TO US!

One of the first mistakes made is someone runs out and buys their first pup and then gets stuck trying to figure out their program. Program 1st. Pup 2nd!

Note: We are legally not allowed to sell to Brokers or Pet Stores.

What Comes with our Pups!?!

#1 Socialized Daily!!! It is a delicate balance to give your pups exposure to different people, while we stay focused on keeping the kennel free from diseases. We limit the number of people who come into the kennel, but still make sure the pups get daily interactions. We don't socialize our pups for you. We do this for THEM! Pups who know how to respond to humans ensures they have a better chance for a happier life!

#2 - Potty Training Started!!! Listen folks, anyone who tries to tell you that your 8 week old pup will be potty trained is lying. However, we have designed our kennels to ensure your pup has kept it's natural desire to keep their 'home' clean. We have had quite a few of our new families provide the feedback that our pups are very easy to complete their potty training. Of course, you have to do your part. ;-)

#3 - Microchipped! Chips are automatically registered in our names by AKC, but you will just need to transfer the chip to you on the AKC Reunite website.

#4 - Lifetime Genetic Health Guarantee! This is just as much for us and for you. We want to know if our lines carry something so we can eliminate it from our program. Our breeding dogs are DNA'd, but not everything is tested for by DNA companies. We are strongly committed to raise the healthiest pups!

#5 - Lifetime Support of Dominique. 24/7/365. We are in this adventure together. YOU ARE NOT BOTHERING ME! Just call. I would much rather you call me, than to run off to the Emergency Vet if you have the ability to manage the pup yourself till your vet is available.

Return and Refund Policy

As we all know, Return Policies for Pets are different from most things you buy. Any type of financial reimbursement should not be expected except in rare circumstances. If you feel you have one of those rare circumstances, please don't hesitate to ask. We are always willing to discuss the situation. Any type of parasite is not grounds for refund. Our pups are on a very strict worming schedule, but since pups eat their own poop, and everyone else's, they can pick up parasites at any time. (Please pick up a liquid wormer and syringe (no needle) to administer medicine before picking up the puppy.)

Here at TNPuppies, we strive to provide a puppy that is healthy and without any significant issue. If we have noticed any issue before the pup is picked up, we will discuss this with you and you have the option to pass and receive a full refund, or you can pick a different pup. Issues are documented on your contract, and you will be provided with medications and supplements if needed. (An example...we had a pup who was picked on by his littermates and had bite marks on his neck. Just needed some basic first aid till it healed.)

Remember when it comes to physical characteristics; DNA is a tricky thing. We cannot guarantee anything about the puppy you purchase as far as size, breed ability, or show ability. A dog not meeting your specific dream is not grounds for a refund. However, we do have a very distinct Lifetime Guarantee Health Guarantee that I still have not seen any other breeder offer. This covers anything that will drastically reduce the life expectancy or cost at least the cost of the dog to treat. If you have this situation, we will review the information and possibly your dog. If you claim is true, you receive the cost of your dog in a refund.

YOU CAN RETURN A DOG TO US AT ANY STAGE OF LIFE FOR ANY REASON, AND WE WILL REHOME IT FOR YOU. This does not include receiving your money back.

Scammers

Here is how to avoid overseas rip off artists.

#1 -Absolutely avoid anyone who's profile name is 2 first names. i.e. Lauren Ashley. They scam in multiple countries and other countries enter their profile names opposite to how we enter ours in the US. NOT ALL are this way, but definitely several are.

#2 - Scammers work in teams, so one of these fake profiles will recommend the other fake profile. "Justin Small just loves the pup he got from Lauren Ashley" One or both will be the Admin of the FB Group. Some of these FB groups have over 10,000 followers.

#3 - Never send a single nickel to anyone you cannot call on the phone.

#4-Bad grammar/punctuation. Now we all have a typo now and then, but look for misused punctuation, words, or missing words. Most common mistake I see is the comma on the front of a word like ,this
